Intern - Operations & Cloud

*Internship – Operations and Cloud (ON-SITE position in Reston, VA)

Apptium is seeking dynamic and driven interns to join our Operations and Cloud Internship Program for the summer. This immersive 12-week program is designed for students with a background in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related fields who are eager to gain real-world experience and contribute to impactful projects.

Interns will work cross-functionally across departments, gaining a holistic view of how security, cloud, IT operations, and business processes intersect. The program offers exposure to endpoint security, foundational cloud concepts, and the importance of cybersecurity within modern enterprise environments. Interns will also develop adaptability and problem-solving skills by contributing to a variety of tasks and challenges as they arise.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate across teams to support and understand endpoint security processes and organizational workflows.
• Gain a foundational understanding of cloud platforms and the critical role of security in the cloud.
• Participate in interdepartmental projects, offering technical assistance and ensuring alignment with security best practices.
• Assist with various tasks, which may include documentation, troubleshooting, and process improvement.
• Demonstrate flexibility by addressing a wide range of tasks and challenges across departments.
• Attend team meetings, presentations, and training sessions focused on organizational infrastructure and security.

Job Requirements:

• Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to adapt and take on varied tasks across multiple areas of the organization.
• Strong analytical thinking and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Familiarity with basic IT and cybersecurity concepts.
• Interest in learning about enterprise-level cloud environments and security practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Interest in endpoint protection tools and IT support workflows.
• Experience with productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft 365, collaboration platforms).
• Ability to quickly learn new systems and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
