This internship is designed for students seeking college credit and offers hands-on experience in designing and building user-centric websites and applications.

Key Responsibilities

UI/UX Design

  • Conduct user research to identify pain points and translate insights into actionable design solutions.
  • Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to visualize design concepts.
  • Design visually stunning and intuitive user interfaces that align with brand guidelines.
  • Optimize designs for user experience and accessibility.

Web Development

  • Develop and maintain responsive, functional websites using WordPress and other CMS platforms.
  • Customize themes and plugins to meet specific design and functionality requirements.
  • Convert UI/UX designs into code using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Ensure website compatibility across devices and browsers.

Optimization and Analytics

  • Analyze website performance using tools like Google Analytics or Hotjar.
  • Optimize website load times, SEO, and usability to enhance user experience.
  • Gather feedback to make iterative improvements to designs and functionality.

Collaboration and Documentation

  • Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to align web design efforts with business objectives.
  • Work closely with the technical team to ensure seamless integration of front-end designs with back-end systems.
  • Document design and development workflows for scalability and future projects.

Special Projects

  • Assist in building new landing pages for marketing campaigns that drive lead generation.
  • Redesign and optimize key areas of our website to improve user engagement and conversion rates.
  • Develop reusable components and design templates to streamline future projects.

Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Technical Expertise:
    • Proficiency in WordPress with experience customizing themes and plugins.
    • Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
    • Familiarity with design tools like Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch.
  • CMS and Tools:
    • Experience with CMS platforms like WordPress, Webflow, or Shopify.
    • Knowledge of version control systems like Git is a plus.
    • Exposure to website analytics tools (Google Analytics, Hotjar) and a basic understanding of their use.
  • UI/UX Knowledge:
    • Understanding of user-centered design principles and accessibility standards.
    • Ability to create wireframes, prototypes, and mockups to communicate design ideas.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
    • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of meeting deadlines.
