Cybersecurity Internship

Overview:

The Cybersecurity Internship is an opportunity for the fresh grads/pursuing grads from the Engineering/Sciences with a knowledge on cybersecurity, it’s an opportunity for the trainee to gain hands-on experience cybersecurity under the guidance of our experienced cybersecurity professionals and he/she will exposed to various of information security, functions of cybersecurity such as the vulnerability management, threat management, incident response & handling, security platform engineering and compliance requirements in an enterprise organization.

It’s an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual to gain practical experience in cybersecurity with he/she spending their time in understanding the nuances of operational and functional aspects of cybersecurity.

Opportunity Highlights: 

1. Vulnerability and Threat Management

  • Vulnerability scanning and validation of the of the information, research the impact of any new vulnerabilities along with the team.
  • Understand and create proactive approach towards the vulnerabilities with the help of the team and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the team requirements and help the team with researching into the vulnerabilities.
  • Work with the team to address the vulnerabilities, patching and assist in accomplishing the VM & TM requirements.

2. Security Incident Response and Handling

  • Work and support in incident response and handling investigations and activities.
  • Assist the team in security related projects during the internship and help in establishing maturity for the function.
  • Analysis and monitoring of the security logs , events and incidents generated by the security tools.
  • Researching, analysing threat and open source threat intelligence with the team and creating actionable items.
  • Working with tickets and resolving an incident response ticket.

3. Compliance and Audit

  • Will work with internal and external audit requirements to facilitate roll out of compliance processes.
  • Participate in the audit requirements and readiness checks if any.
  • Understanding the compliance process and procedure.
  • Process administrative tasks using Microsoft Word and Excel with the team.

4. Platform engineering

  • Understanding the cybersecurity tool stack and the platform engineering process.
  • Understanding and working with at least one technology and supporting the same.
  • Working with the team on tasks related to platform engineering and implementation.
  • Working with tickets and attending to tickets related to platform.

Skills & Qualifications: 

  • Currently pursuing a BE in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or other domains.
  • Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts, including network security, encryption, authentication, access control and other core cybersecurity skills
  • Understanding of TCP/IP protocols , email, DNS, Firewall, IDS/IPS, Load Balancers.
  • Familiarity with common operating systems (Windows, Linux) and network protocols
  • Understanding of C,C++, Java computer programming language.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies

Target hourly range for this job requisition is anticipated to be $20 hourly.  Internship length June 17th - August 16th.
