Retail Allocation Analyst

Manage retail inventory flow by channel and monitor performance of assigned product categories to ensure inventory levels, product mix, and quantities are appropriate to maximize store productivity and achieve overall company’s financial objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (Note: Other duties may be assigned)

  • Develop and implement allocation and replenishment strategies for designated channel and assigned merchandise categories. Conduct quantitative analysis to make independent decisions in accordance with the company’s company financial plans, store attributes, and inventory turn objectives.
  • Manage replenishment to stores taking into account weeks of supply and target in stocks. Ensure replenishment parameters accurately reflect business trends and company goals. Execute standard replenishment process for all ongoing SKUs.
  • Plan, analyze, and execute product allocations for promotional, seasonal and sale/clearance merchandise by using appropriate allocation logic for each type of distribution in order to achieve the overall company sales plan. Accountable for ensuring stores are at optimal inventory levels and that presentation requirements are met.
  • Allocate initial and one-time buy assortments utilizing merchandise forecast and product strategies. Monitor delivery of inbound product to the DC and communicate issues that will impact floor sets.
  • Monitor inventory levels of exception stores and develop allocation strategies in partnership with Senior Store Planner. Ensure that all high volume and fast-turning stores are appropriately stocked with product throughout the year.
  • Build appropriate assortments, inventory levels for new stores to achieve opening plan. Manage and modify all new store replenishment settings and react to sales trends.
  • Support stores that have unique events, space, assortment and timing needs.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationship with members of cross-functional team (e.g. merchandise and merchandise planning teams, sales and communication teams, district managers and stores).
  • Collaborate with IT business partners and recommend changes and/or enhancements to current procedures and systems.
  • Maintain multiple project plans and timelines to support company initiatives.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field preferred or equivalent experience
  • • 1-3 years web or retail merchandise planning, buying and/or allocation experience
  • • Strong background in retail math and data analysis, with emphasis on retail inventory planning

  • Knowledge of and familiarity with Retail KPI’s
  • Understanding of both Internet and brick-and-mortar retail channels, as well consumer trends
  • Proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office software required.  High level of expertise in Excel is required
  • Detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent organization and follow through skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexible, adaptable with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • Strong team player who is comfortable working with multiple functional areas
