
Applications Engineering Intern

This internship is Full Time (40 hours/week) and will ideally start in May or June 2024 and last for the duration of 3 months.
What you’ll learn and do:
You will receive training in digital logic synthesis and physical implementation, utilizing Synopsys tools and established methodologies. With this training, you will be responsible for implementing a partition to meet specific power, performance, and area (PPA) targets. This hands-on experience will involve:
- Gaining exposure to the most current technology nodes, allowing you to analyze the design and apply strategies to meet PPA goals.
- You will be involved in tasks such as logic synthesis, floor planning, power planning, placement, congestion analysis, clock tree synthesis, routing, timing analysis and DRC closure.
- Learning how to troubleshoot tool-related issues that may arise during the implementation.
Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to enhance your skills by:
- Developing scripts to automate certain aspects of the debugging process, streamlining flows and improving efficiency.
- Creating workarounds to address any shortcomings in the tool, demonstrating problem-solving abilities and adaptability.
Skill Requirements:
- Course work in Digital Logic Design.
- Understanding of Physical Implementation Flow and Knowledge of EDA Tools (Beginner)
- Object oriented programming experience/coursework (Beginner)
- Tcl/Shell/Makefile/Python/other scripting language experience.
- Debugging and problem-solving skills.
Education Qualifications:
All interns must be currently enrolled in an accredited educational institution. Seeking students pursing BS/BA; MS.

The base salary range across the U.S. for this role is between $24.00 to $48.00. In addition, this role may be eligible for an annual bonus, equity, and other discretionary bonuses.
