Last summer our internships were ranked #6 in the nation
Our mission is to find a mobile solution that actually helps solve the problem of increasing anxiety while at the same time building more resilient friendships in teens worldwide. SocialTech Labs brings together passionate, creative individuals across the globe.
SocialTech Labs, Inc., is working with the National Science Foundation under the iCAP program. We have been tasked with building a mobile application to help reduce anxiety and build happier, more resilient friendships in teens worldwide.
Requirements
Above all, we are looking for applicants who are passionate and committed to our cause and what we are trying to accomplish - helping teens worldwide just have a little easier life.
Sense we are a tech startup it helps if you like pizza - just kidding!
Back Story
- A couple of summers ago, four high school teen girls interned with us. They selected 4,000 TikTok influencers and individually contacted each of them. Of them, 40 TikTok were excited to promote our new BestFriends iOS mobile app all pro-bono because it helped teens reduce anxiety. Their total follower base is 50 million. Unfortunately, the app took much longer to build that we expected. We have rebuilt the app three times and will finally be ready to launch live on the App Store by the middle of July.
Responsibilities
- Help us reconnect with the 40 influencers and find new influencer to help us get the word out
- Send out DMs or emails on IG accounts to develop new influencers
- Be part of the BrainStorming sessions to invent NEW features for the app
- Conduct Beta Tests of the app using TestFlight with friends
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders from different functional teams to bring ideas to life
- Support with administrative tasks and regulatory activities, such as key meetings and video conferences
- Support the preparation of presentations
- We are a virtual company using Skype as our primary method of day-to-day communication. In addition, we have weekly Zoom calls. Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday at 7pm EDT
What you'll learn and get

- You get a chance to help a unique social app that is NON-TOXIC get in the hands of teens worldwide
- You will how to solve problems by not just throwing money at it
- Get hands-on experiences in conducting agile sprints (both one-on-one interviews and surveys) and learning about testing biases
- Become familiar with analytics tools especially in Amazon Web Services, i.e., Redshift and Athena
Qualifications
- Exceptional organization and communication skills
- You’re excited by complex tasks and the opportunities that ambiguity can offer
- Be self-driven, finding innovative ways to help the team
- Be proficient in Google Docs, Spreadsheets, Presentation, Skype, and Zoom and analytic programs
