Marketing and Corporate Communications Intern

Janney’s marketing and corporate communications internship is a 3-month paid opportunity from June 1 through August 31, 2021.  The internship has the potential to transition to a part-time internship after completion of the initial 3-month internship.

The Marketing & Corporate Communications Intern will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and knowledge about an in-house corporate marketing and communications function in the financial services industry. The intern will be exposed to all components of a marketing and communication function including brand management, content development, content distribution, internal communications, public relations, social media, and marketing analytics. 

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with day-to-day corporate communications including writing and editing content for various content mediums
  • Assist in internal content development and distribution management including the firm’s internal company newsletter
  • Assist with social media account management including coordination, publishing and strategy
  • Support public relations and other external communication efforts
  • Fulfill other marketing and communication administrative support and special projects as assigned
Required Skills:
  • Self-starter with a high level of initiative and motivation
  • Excellent writing skills as well as social media experience
  • Ability to problem solve and work in a self-directed manner within a project or deadline-driven environment
  • Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain relationships at all organizational levels
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and be a contributing member of the team
  • Demonstrate a strong desire to learn and quickly grasp concepts and information to apply to work assignments
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and initiatives while maintaining a strong sense of urgency
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and/or participation in extracurricular activities
  • Desire for a career in the financial services industry
Required Experience:
  • Currently enrolled in a 4-year accredited college/university and actively pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree
  • Must be a rising Junior or Senior (graduating in Spring 2022 or 2023).  2021 Graduates will be considered
This role will 100% virtual in the summer. When Janney returns to the office, the candidate could have the opportunity to work in the Philadelphia office several days a week if approved by the hiring manager.
