Sales Development Representative

This position will support our efforts to grow originations in line with our corporate strategy, your goal is to contact prospective Marlin small business customers to help them grow their business by sharing the benefits of commercial financing using telephone/email communication.  We win their trust by providing an exceptional customer experience and expedient execution of transactions.  A very professional and customer service-oriented approach is both important and required. Marlin will provide training and support to help you succeed. What the Sales Development Representative needs to provide is the desire to be successful and the ability to perform in a vigorous and passionate environment. 
       
 Essential Functions:

  • Position requires significant phone contact with prospects, utilizing an in-house contact management system
  • Develop and maintain accurate data in client database
  • Capture data from the prospect regarding use of leasing currently or in the past
  • Educate the prospect on the benefits of leasing and how it can help them grow their business
  • Conduct initial qualification of leads based on brief phone conversation
  • Prospect leads until the initial credit application is received
  • After completion of credit application, transfer qualified prospects to a Business Finance Advisor

Qualifications:
  • Sales or customer service experience preferred
  • Customer service focus and a professional approach to building B2B relationships
  • Self-driven with an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Coachable and willing to learn
  • A drive and desire to achieve results
  • Financial services experience helpful but not required
  • Undergraduate degree required

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Professional demeanor and ability to make a great impression on the first call

  • Ability to quickly learn and grasp financial product information concepts
