R&D Tax Credits Associate

Baker Tilly, one of the fastest growing CPA advisory firms in the nation, has an incredible career opportunity for a Research & Development (R&D) Tax Credits Consultants to join our growing Research & Development Credits practice!
 
Our R&D Tax Credits practice is made up of professionals across the U.S., who work with clients to develop an efficient and cost-effective approach for identifying and documenting eligible R&D activities and costs. Our team has assisted clients in a variety of industries to identify, document and sustain federal and state R&D credits through a comprehensive understanding of their business operations.

What you’ll do:
  • Be a trusted advisor to middle market clients by providing strategic R&D tax credits consulting services that includes:
  • Assist on research and development (R&D) tax credit studies including client interviews, reviewing client data, developing client and industry specific tools and templates and preparing technical reports.
  • Assist in the research and drafting of technical memoranda related to R&D matters.
  • Assist in providing audit defense assistance for clients being audited by the IRS or state taxing authorities.
  • Utilize your entrepreneurial skills to network and build strong relationships internally and externally with clients and the community.
  • Invest in your professional development individually and through participation in firm wide learning and development programs.
  • Support the growth and development of team members through the Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy, helping associates meet their professional goals.

Qualifications

Successful candidates will have:
  • Bachelor of Arts Degree (i.e., English, Philosophy, or History or related fields).
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral). Specifically, ability to interview technical personnel (Engineers and Scientists) and document their findings. In addition, research technical topics and document findings.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Willingness to learn about market innovations, such as technology, software and manufacturing.
  • Travel required to client/prospect offices.
  • Proficient in researching technical topics and documenting findings.
  • No industry experience necessary.
