Communications Internship

Reporting to the Global Business Communications Leader for Semiconductor Technologies (one of the three lines of business of E&I), this internship will give a candidate exposure to product and business promotional marketing communications for customers and other external audiences in the Semiconductor Technologies business. Semiconductor Technologies serves the integrated circuit (IC) fabrication market, with a deep customer focus, advanced technologies and global reach.

The Semiconductor Technologies Communications Specialist will be responsible for providing marketing communications support for product promotion, tradeshows and other events, and digital properties including our external website and social media. This internship will be located at the CMP Technologies site in Newark, Delaware, and the candidate will also collaborate on some employee communications activities at the site.

Key responsibilities for this role include:
-         Collaborating with external design firms and internal business partners to deliver technical product literature such as product datasheets and brochures; including managing project timelines, providing editorial review, and ensuring adherence with the DuPont brand and trademark guidelines
-         Coordinating with designers and subject matter experts (SMEs) to create posters, tradeshow backdrops and other resources for industry conferences and virtual events
-         Developing new web content and/or auditing existing web content with SMEs to ensure accuracy and good search engine optimization, including product web pages and blogs 
-         Writing social media posts to promote events/products and thought leadership articles; create branded graphics for social or work with design teams to create them
-         Maintaining internal libraries of marketing communications materials, including storing files in appropriate repositories such as SharePoint and MediaValet library, notifying teams of changes, and replacing outdated versions
-         Providing assistance and guidance in the enhancement of employee communications practices and messages at the site, including email, digital signage and town halls
Additional responsibilities may include:
-         Developing employee communications to share stories on recognition, product launches and events for the E&I intranet and Yammer
-         Supporting site-level communications including internal events, community engagement, and diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) initiatives
-         Coordinating translation of customer communications and/or other materials with translation service provider and in-country reviewers
-         Collaborating with communications team on press releases, ensuring appropriate style, reviews and distribution
-         Participating in new product naming exercises to identify new brands/product names, including facilitating workshops, brainstorming ideas, and researching and scoring potential names

Requirements:
·      Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited college or university
·      Currently at least a sophomore in an undergraduate bachelor’s degree program, or a graduate student in a master’s degree program
·      A minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred
·      Pursuing a degree in Communications, Public Relations, Integrated Marketing or related field
·      Microsoft Office Suite experience – notably Word, PowerPoint
·      Some familiarity with digital marketing practices, including knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO) and social media marketing
·      Strong organizational skills to coordinate multiple projects with different timelines
·      Excellent writing/verbal communication skills
·      Available to complete the entire assignment
·      Have the right to work in the U.S. without restriction

Preferred Qualifications:
·      Understanding of graphic design principles
·      Coursework or interest in branding and brand protection
·      Strong interpersonal and leadership experience – such as community volunteerism
