2021 Glenmede Summer Intern Program

Glenmede will again sponsor its annual summer internship program and seeks to hire approximately 15 - 20 students in 2021. Participants will have opportunities for personal and professional development while gaining insight into future career opportunities within our industry and in our firm.

Interviews for Premier Partners will take place on October 5, 2020 – October 23, 2020 with offers being extended October 26, 2020 – October, 30, 2020.

All other interviews will begin on October 26, 2020 – November 6, 2020 with offers being extended November 9, 2020 – November 13, 2020.

The majority of internships will be located in our Philadelphia, PA headquarters with limited placements in our regional offices (Washington, DC; Greenville, DE; Princeton, NJ; Cleveland, OH; and New York, NY).

Responsibilities:

Roles and responsibilities will vary based on department with all interns expected to provide assistance supporting a wide range of activities, acting and performing in a professional manner. 

As an intern, you’ll gain exposure to the wealth and investment management businesses, as well as a deeper level of experience in a particular area or focus. We work collaboratively and your role will be “hands on,” working alongside managers and specialists of all career levels.
Internship opportunities are available across the organization and can include assignments in one of a variety of departments. (See below for a brief overview of departments)

Business Assurance (law students preferred - Philadelphia, PA)
The Business Assurance team provides an independent, objective and unrestricted evaluation of management activities. They provide accurate and current information to the stakeholders about the efficiency and effectiveness of Glenmede’s policies and operations, and the status of its compliance with the statutory obligations.
 
Endowments and Foundations (Philadelphia, PA only)
Glenmede’s dedicated Endowment and Foundation team partners with more than 250 endowments, foundations and nonprofit organizations. The team provides comprehensive investment management, advisory and administrative services to our nonprofit partners. Their high level of client service can include grants management support as well as tailored advice, education and administrative resources. 

Fiduciary Practice (law students only - Philadelphia, PA)
The Fiduciary Practices team specializes in complex fiduciary matters, estate and complex trust administration, death tax preparation, and oversight of fiduciary practice at Glenmede.

Investment Strategy (Philadelphia, PA only)
The Investment Strategy team is responsible for formulating investment policy and communicate that policy internally and externally. The team develops asset allocations that provide a risk/reward advantage for Glenmede’s clients. They utilize proprietary models and collaboration with internal experts.

Manager Research Group (Philadelphia, PA only)
The Manager Research Group is responsible for researching, selecting and monitoring external investment managers. The team provides in-depth quantitative and qualitative analyses of hedge fund, commodities and other public market managers. In addition, the team performs research on domestic and global equities, domestic and global investment grade and high yield fixed income instruments.

Portfolio Management (Philadelphia, PA; Princeton, NJ; Cleveland, OH; and Greenville, DE) Portfolio Managers work closely with clients to develop an Investment Policy Statement, identify an asset allocation, and review and define the permissible asset classes and sub-asset classes with minimum, maximum and long-term weightings. The portfolio management team remains responsible for the ongoing active management of client portfolios.

Project Management and Middle Office (Philadelphia, PA only) The Project Management and Middle Office department works with different business lines to support strategic initiatives and client service across the organization. The department is made up of Relationship Management Services, Investment Management Services, and Performance Measurement.  

Sustainable and Impact Investing (Philadelphia, PA only)
The Sustainable and Impact Investing group is responsible for leading and overseeing sustainable and impact investing strategies, products, and resources for the firm. The team identifies, diligences, and approves impact-oriented public and private market strategies, leads the development of thought leadership around key trends, and develops impact measurement tools. 

Wealth Advisory (Philadelphia, PA; Cleveland, OH; New York, NY and Greenville, DE) 
Our Wealth Advisors offer comprehensive services, tailored to meet the needs of each client, including expertise on family governance and educational programs, philanthropic guidance, fiduciary services and administrative services. 

Qualifications:
  • Must be enrolled at an accredited 4-year college or university and ideally rising junior or senior. We accept varying majors.
  • Fiduciary Practice must be enrolled in Law School.
  • Must demonstrate an ability for problem solving.
  • Must demonstrate strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Advanced Excel skills preferred.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship, for the duration of the internship.
  • Must demonstrate academic excellence and be interested to learn more about a career in investment/wealth management.
