Paraplanner / CFP/ Operations Associate / Administrative Assistant

The Mercadien Group is expanding and seeks a Paraplanner to join our Asset Management group. The Paraplanner plays a critical role in helping the firm achieving its mission. With overall responsibility for delivering extraordinary client service, and securities business processing; the person in this role must be professional, caring, and genuinely interested in making other people feel fully supported. Additionally, this position requires superior attention to detail, & excellent detective capabilities. The ideal candidate should enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and be adept at maintaining & solidifying important business relationships. Requirements for the Paraplanner position include, but are not limited to:

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist with general office administrative tasks including answering phones & fielding inquiries
  • Open new accounts, create client files and process forms
  • Perform clients service requests and maintenance
  • Maintain client files and CRM using Red Tail
  • Perform research tasks and assist preparing for client meetings
  • Communication and follow up with clients as needed
  • Assist in fulfillment of compliance responsibilities with compliance officer
  • Light bookkeeping
  • Handle miscellaneous operational activities
  • Paraplanning for wealth and estate plans and prepare investment proposals for prospective clients
  • Enter data into Financial Planning software

REQUIREMENTS
  • BA or BS in business, finance, accounting
  • Hold or interested in obtaining Registered Paraplanner (RP) or Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation
  • FINRA Series 7 and/or 66 securities registrations a plus
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in the financial services industry preferred
  • An understanding of financial planning concepts and terminology
  • Proficiency with computer programs, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Morningstar Advisor Workstation
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Flexible, quick learner
  • Strong business writing skills
  • Keen attention to detail as well as organizational and administrative skills
  • Works well independently
