Tax Internship- Philadelphia

Candidates applying for the PA office will work out of our center city offices, located at 1600 Market Street. Hours are flexible but we are looking for a minimum of 20 hours per week. Interns will become involved with all aspects of the Tax practice and will gain solid, hands-on experience. They will experience challenging and relevant assignments working directly with Marcum partners and staff. They will work along with the Tax staff in performing the tax compliance function of the Tax practice. The position requires strong quantitative, analytical and technology capabilities. Interns must exhibit initiative and a strong desire to learn.

 

The goal of the internship is to give interns a clear understanding of all areas of the Tax department. They will be assigned client work and will be involved in various projects. Projects will be assigned on an as needed basis. Projects can include responding to notices from taxing authorities, research tax issues, tax planning, and projections, reconciliation of book to tax income, etc. They will leave Marcum with the knowledge of what will be expected of them as staff accountants.

 

Interns are allowed and encouraged to attend any subject matter training being offered during their internship. Marcum LLP offers 150+ courses per year, in house. Interns will also receive on the job training and may be required to go to client sites at times.
