Lumos is looking for a Data Analytics Intern! If you have a background in data collection/analysis or are interested in learning about business development, construction, and how to implement data-driven decisions, we’d love to hear from you!

This program gives students hands-on experience, professional mentorship, and the chance to work on projects that shape the future of technology and communications. Interns will collaborate with our teams, learn practical skills, and gain insight into the fiber-optic industry while contributing to meaningful work.

**Fully onsite position in our High Point office!***

What You’ll Do:

  • Troubleshoot SQL issues by identifying and resolving query errors, improving performance, and ensuring data accuracy and reliable database operations.
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries to ensure efficient data retrieval, strong performance, and accurate results.
  • Cross-functional team collaboration involves working effectively with stakeholders across multiple departments to achieve shared goals.

Project’s You’ll Work On:

  • Power BI development and maintenance:
    • Including designing and building dashboards and reports, managing data models and ensuring data accuracy. 
  • Learn about advance SQL techniques (window functions, CTEs, temp tables, intersect, except, etc.)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with dashboard tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc. 
  • Familiarity with database structures/hierarchy.

  • A current college student pursuing a degree in a relevant field.
  • Motivated, curious, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • Skilled in critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving (technical skills may vary by role).
